Your Somatic Fitness Coach Near Asheville

HI, I’m SETH.

I’ve spent over 15 years working in the physical education and movement field. That experience has shaped how I coach at The Elemental Trainer. I pay attention to details, patterns, and how the body and mind respond in real time.

I hold more than a dozen specialized certifications and have worked across many movement disciplines, including martial arts, breathwork, and nervous system–informed training. I’ve served as a Team Instructor for MovNat, a Development Coach for Iron Tribe Fitness, and I competed at a high level as a San-Shou kickboxer. Along the way, I’ve also mentored other trainers, helping them develop their skills, professionalism, and approach to client care.

Train The Body.
Train The Inner System.

Breathwork & Personal Trainer in Leicester

Even with my background, I don’t coach from a single system.

My approach is built on the belief that the body is capable of healing and adapting when we learn how to listen.

This means I integrate multiple approaches to best adapt to each individual I am helping.

Most people come to me when they feel stuck, afraid of making things worse, and worried ‘this is just how it is now’. My role isn’t to ‘fix’ your body. It’s to help you understand it, trust it, and build strength and resilience that carry into everyday life.

A Little More About Me (For The Curious)

Some people like credentials. Others like context.

For those who enjoy these lenses, here are a few that resonate with how I move through the world and my work.

In Human Design, I’m a 3/5 Reflector. That shows up in how I coach. I learn by experience, I adapt constantly, and I pay close attention to what’s happening in the moment. I don’t force outcomes and I don’t rush. I respond as things change.

I’m an Earth Dragon in Chinese astrology.

Serious, steady, and strong, with a natural pull toward growth and transformation. I tend to work patiently, but with intensity when it’s time to move.

You don’t need to know or care about any of this for the work to be effective.

But for those who do, these frameworks reflect the same themes that guide my approach: awareness, adaptability, and deep respect for tuning in.

What I Don’t Bend On

Slide 1

the body is intelligent and self-healing

The body is ancient technology. It carries wisdom, adapts, and knows how to heal when we learn how to listen. Training is not about fixing something that’s broken, but supporting the body’s natural ability to restore balance, strength, and resilience.

Slide 2

growth requires presence and (some) discomfort

Training the physical body is a spiritual act. Change asks for vulnerability, attention, and effort. Discomfort is part of that process, but pain is not! This work teaches the difference. Discomfort is information. Pain is a signal. Presence is what allows growth to happen safely.

Slide 3

personal autonomy and responsibility

No one knows your body better than you.. This work honors personal autonomy by teaching people how to trust what they feel and take responsibility for their own growth. Guidance is offered, not imposed. The goal is not dependence on a coach, but confidence in your own judgment and capacity.

FAQs

  • Because how you move is directly connected to your mind and your soul.

Somatic and embodied movement helps people notice what their body is telling them in real time. Pain, tension, hesitation, and ease all carry information. When you learn how to listen instead of override those signals, movement becomes safer, more effective, and more in sync.

  • Most fitness coaching focuses on external goals like numbers, performance, or appearance. My work focuses on how your body functions as a whole.

I’m less interested in pushing you through a program and more interested in helping you understand your movement patterns, breath, and responses to challenge.

The goal is not short-term results. It’s long-term capability and confidence in your body.

  • I’m based near Asheville, North Carolina, and work with clients in person throughout the surrounding area, including Leicester, Weaverville, and nearby communities.

I also work with clients virtually, which allows people outside the Asheville area to train with me from wherever they are.
